STENA LINE PROPELLER PRIZE HACKATHON

Stena Line Propeller Prize Hackathon is a 24-hour competition in which teams of people from different schools in Poland and Sweden and with different skills come together to solve a real-life challenge for Stena Line. 

The winning team will get a chance to meet with top managers within the Stena Line Group where you will gain invaluable real-world experiences and insights, establish meaningful connections, and potentially kick-start your career journey!

Stena Line Propeller Prize Hackathon is a competition in which teams of people from different schools and countries and with different skills come together to solve a real-life challenge provided by Stena Line, a leader in ferry transportation and maritime services.

You are put together with a team, where you work for 24 hours to solve the challenge you are given. At the end of the event, you will present your contribution and compete for great prizes. 

Register by applying in the form on this page. You will be informed later if you have been selected to participate, along with more information about the competition.

We will not reveal the full challenge until the competition starts. But the theme will be about developing solutions to reduce environmental impact. 

 

The Stena Line Propeller Prize Hackathon is not just a competition; it’s a platform for students to enhance their skills, expand their network, and gain practical experience by working on actual cases presented by Stena Line. Participants will have the chance to engage with fellow creative minds from diverse backgrounds, fostering an environment of collaboration and ingenuity. 

People from Stena Line will be there to supporting participants. For Polish students and some of the Swedish students (not students living in Karlskrona), Stena Line will provide travel and accommodation, ensuring that all participants can fully immerse themselves in the hackathon experience without any financial burden.

The winning team will get a chance to meet with top managers within the Stena Line Group where you will gain invaluable real-world experiences and insights, establish meaningful connections, and potentially kick-start your career journey!

The students who can apply are students from Poland and Sweden. We encourage students in a variety of fields to apply. Examples of specializations may include, for example: strategic sustainability, computer science, marine technology, industrial economics, etc. A team with several different competences contributes to a stronger team!

PPNT Gdynia

The Pomeranian Science and Technology Park Gdynia (PPNT Gdynia) is Poland’s largest hub for organizations operating at the intersection of business, science and technology. It has nearly 260 companies, which can use nearly 80,000 square meters of floor space. This includes not only office space, but also prototyping facilities like a 3D Printing Center, coworking space, a Startup Zone, a conference center, specialized studios, a Bio Laboratory and Patent Information. Companies located in PPNT Gdynia include businesses operating in the areas of ICT, automation and robotics, environmental protection, biotechnology and industrial design. There is also a Design Center on the grounds of PPNT Gdynia, responsible for the implementation of the Gdynia Design Days festival, one of the biggest design festival in Poland.

PPNT Gdynia also offers a wide range of support for companies in the form of free training, business consulting and priority participation in events organized by the Park, including trips to trade fairs.
Thanks to the implementation of the Tripolis project, PPNT Gdynia’s offer for Pomeranian SMEs, has been expanded to include the following services:

  • Design Management: from concept to implementation (Design Center service).
  • Specialized patent research and patent literature search services (Patent Information Service).
  • Provision of specialized research services in the field of combined techniques of chemical analysis and biotechnology for individual customer needs (Bio Laboratory service).
