As Europe has over 1400 ports and terminals not all of these ports have the same resources in developing or applying smart tools from a digitalisation viewpoint as is witnessed in major ports, such as Antwerp, Hamburg and Valencia. This workshop, Workshop 1 – Smart Tools for Small and Medium Ports, took place at 3rd of July 2020 and pays special attention to the “smart” tools in which small and medium size port could benefit from in order to improve their performance. A number of industry experts share their knowledge in the recorded sessions.
Special appreciation for helping to host the joint workshop is given to the SECMAR project, a EU funded project that probes the emerging field of maritime cyber security in the fast paced digitalization of the maritime industry. Both projects are united together in applied research and further understanding on the multi-dimensional roles in which Digitalization Transformation will disrupt the way maritime business is conducted today.
