Innovation Day 2020 is cancelled

Due to the corona pandemic and the current restrictions against large gatherings, Blue Science Park and partners have decided to cancel Innovation Day 2020 and the award ceremonies for Stena Line Propeller Prize and Länsförsäkringar BlueHealth Prize, which were scheduled for this autumn. Innovation Day 2021 will take place on the 6th of May 2021.

Innovation Day is all about creating a meeting point for companies, startups, academia and the public sector, so most of the day is dedicated to networking. Given the current restrictions and the fact that we do not know how the pandemic will develop, we have decided to not go through with Innovation Day 2020.

— During Innovation Day 2019 we beat the previous visitors record when we welcomed over 350 visitors and several international guests and exhibitors. That was a great achievement, and now we are preparing for an even better Innovation Day in 2021 together with our partners and members, Sofie Lundmark, communicator at Blue Science Park and project manager for Innovation Day, says.

Innovations are awarded the Propeller Prize and BlueHealth Prize
The nominations for the entrepreneur prizes Stena Line Propeller Prize and Länsförsäkringar BlueHealth Prize will open in the beginning of 2021 – so now there is even more time to find the best innovations within the areas of ICT, maritime technology and eHealth around the Baltic sea. Three winners will be selected, and the prize sum is up to 100 000 Swedish kronor (app. 10 000 Euros).

More digital experiences during Innovation Day 2021
The corona pandemic opened up to more digital events and so it is natural for us to add more digital elements to next year’s Innovation Day. Among other things, the day will likely be a combined digital and physical event.

— Innovation Day is an important venue to build on for Karlskrona. We can create true innovations when the public sector and the industry meets academia, so we remain fully focused on creating a great experience in 2021. We will of course continue to follow the guidelines from the public health authorities and stay updated in preparation for next year, Carl-Martin Lanér, interim CEO at Blue Science Park, says.

Program and registration
The program and registration for the 2021-event will open early in 2021.
